Overpayment of Alimony is not Dischargeable in a Bankruptcy Proceeding

A federal court recently found that a “debt arising from the overpayment of spousal support is nondischargeable.  In other words a recipient of alimony who was inadvertently “overpaid” alimony cannot discharge the obligation to repay the debt by filing bankruptcy.
